Sebagai seorang Ibu dengan Hard of Hearing, aku ketakutan tidak bisa berkomunikasi dengan baik. Membaca betapa pentingnya komunikasi yang lancar bagi Ibu dan Anak membuatku mulai mengenalkan beberapa bahasa ekspresi kepada si K sejak ia masih bayi.

Kesepakatan bahasa ekspresi ini terjadi dengan alami, terbentuk bertahun-tahun, kuulang-ulang dan disesuaikan dengan kemampuan si K.

Pelan tapi pasti, kini kami sudah memiliki ‘tabungan’ bahasa ekspresi yang membantuku untuk memahami apa yang diminta si K di saat gerakan mulutnya sulit kubaca.

Ternyata, kesulitan untuk memahami pembicaraan anak tidak hanya dialami oleh Ibu dengan Hard of Hearing. Inilah yang melatar belakangi kenapa aku menulis lebih banyak tentang bahasa ekspresi, aku ingin semua Ibu mempunyai bahasa cinta yang menjembatani komunikasi antara Ibu dan Anak, sambil menunggu bahasa anak semakin jelas.
